Gadaikallu Trek

When people think monsoon trekking in Karnataka, Gadaikallu doesn’t always get the spotlight — but it absolutely should. Lush green trails, a cool misty climb, roaring waterfalls, and a sacred temple nestled in the hills make this one of the most complete weekend treks from Bengaluru. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned trekker, Gadaikallu delivers the full experience: adventure by day, bonfire and music by night.

Day 0 — Departure from Bengaluru (Night)

Board the Tempo Traveller from your nearest pickup point and kick off the weekend with icebreakers, games, and music as Bengaluru’s city lights fade behind you. Get to know your fellow travellers on the overnight journey into the Western Ghats.

Day 1 — Trek, Mud Games & Bonfire

Morning: Arrive at the stay location, freshen up, and fuel up for the day ahead.

The Trek: Lace up and begin the Gadaikallu Trek — an approximately 6 km scenic trail through one of Karnataka’s most beautiful monsoon landscapes. Expect dense green forest cover, cool mountain air, and stunning ridge-top views that make every step worth it.

Lunch: Enjoy a hearty meal at the peak with panoramic views all around — the kind of lunch you’ll remember.

Afternoon: Descend from the trek and head back to the campsite to freshen up. Then it’s time for mud games:

• Mud Volleyball
• Kabaddi
• Tug of War

Evening: Gather around the bonfire for live music, stargazing, and group bonding moments that turn strangers into travel friends. (Subject to weather conditions.)

Night: Overnight stay at the campsite.

Day 2 — Waterfalls, Viewpoints & Return

Morning: Begin the day with a visit to the stunning Didupe Waterfalls — cascading streams and cool mist make for a refreshing start to your last day in the hills.

Sightseeing:

• Devarmane Viewpoint — one of the most scenic vantage points in the region, perfect for capturing that golden-hour panorama. (Subject to timings.)
• Bettada Bairaveshwara Temple — a revered hilltop shrine with a serene atmosphere and sweeping views of the surrounding forest.

Evening: Begin the return journey to Bengaluru, arriving by approximately 10:00 PM.

• A minimum of 10 travellers is required to confirm a batch. If not met, you’ll be offered a transfer to another trip or a full refund.
• Mode of transport depends on group size.

In case of unforeseen weather or government restrictions, certain activities (including the bonfire and Devarmane Viewpoint visit) may be substituted or skipped. No refund will be provided for cancelled activities.
